@RyuDarragh That’s why I wrote “scam” and not scam. Of course it’s not legally a scam, but it’s one of those sneaky little things that many companies (small and large) do from time to time to get that little extra money from you. It leaves you with that certain soapish-bitter aftertaste in your mouth and a sore bumhole, just like last time when you passed out drunk in a bar and none of the guys you were with afterwards wanted to tell you what had happened…

@commanderkruge: Last time I passed out drunk was at a frat party.Game of “spin the bottle” where the winner could have as many girls as he could carry upstairs in one go. I was told all about it the next day. 3 girls. And the three said I was an animal. Problem was, I didn’t remember any of it from when the game started to when I apparently passed out after servicing those 3 girls. I Vowed to never get drunk like that again if my body was gonna go off & have fun like that & not take me along

@Larvemannenz001 I would say the problem isn’t so much Germany, but the greed of the car rental companies and their total lack of scruples.

First have a nice vacation or whatever you’re doing in Germany.

I have never rented a car in Europe but should you ever need to rent one in N. America I have never had a poor experience with Alamo/National Car Rental.

As for the snow tires, at least they’re mandated in winter there. I believe it is only Quebec and possibly New Brunswick here in Canada that mandate suitable winter tires in the snow months. If anyone needs snow tires in winter, it’s most Canadians.
